Other than that what I do is use use free trials of programs like bearshare, and imesh which are completely legal. After your trial is over the files can’t play anymore though. However, there is a legal way to stop that. Simply re-record each song you got.
I know this is a complicated process but it is the only LEGAL way to download music for free and keep it as long as you want.
Limewire is illegal to use if you are downloading copyright content. People don’t realize that when the government finally cracks down on all these people who download music ILLEGALLY they will be liable to hundreds of thousands of dollars in copyright infrastructure.
Do NOT use limewire, it is now illegal in the states after having lost a legal battle.

You could also download a bittorent client like vuze and then download torrents from websites like btjunkie. This is a little more complicated though
Well there isn’t really a reliable source for free music downloads and it is illegal since the Artist won’t get paid for their work. The best, and cheapest way to get music downloads is through MP3Lingo.com. They offer unlimited music downloads for only a few bucks a month. It’s much cheaper than any other site I’ve came across and they are 100% legal paying the artist for their hard work in making music you enjoy. They also have just about every song in every genre.
