they’re sketchy, some work better than others. and it would also depend on the car stereo you have…for instance, i have a fm transmitter that works just ok in my car…kinda staticy, but in my wifes car it works great!….the best option would be to get a car stereo that allows you to hook your ipod or whatever mp3 player you have, directly to the stereo

FM transmitters work very well, i love mine. Another route you can go is Bluetooth A2DP streaming you have to connect bluetooth attachment to your iPod.

I have FM transmitter for my iPod.

It has worked wonderful when traveling in very isolated places, but it’s very frustrating when you get closer to populated areas.

You could try it out and see how it works for you wherever you drive. You may have better luck than some people if you live in a less populated area.

The ultimate thing to do is look into having your car stereo replaced with one that has an input for iPod.

We haven’t yet done this ourselves yet, but hope to in the future because it does become very annoying when you’re enjoying your music and then a station begins to interfere.

That’s when I pop in a CD until I check later and see if iPod plays without interference.
