What if I download iTunes to my friends laptop for now until i can get a laptop? Will I be able to do that? Or do I have to stick to just one computer?

    no u have to use itunes.

    as long as the files are mp3 you should be able to take them from any source to your ipod.
    I’ve copied mp3 to CD then from CD to the ipod but all systems differ & its impossible to generalise but put it this way its worth trying.
